SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Our school curriculum is guided by the standards set forth by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Seton Catholic Schools, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Core Curriculum

Students receive daily instruction in core subjects: Religion, Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, and Language Arts. To support classroom instruction, tutoring is available plus we partner with Milwaukee Succeeds and SHARP Literacy. These “partner” programs allow us to give our students even more opportunities to improve their communication skills. Our high standards in all academic areas prepare our students not only for further education, but for life.

Teachers focus on guiding students to master age-appropriate basic academic skills and encourage exploring the subject matter in more depth. They, as the staff, are also Catholic Christian role models and integrate Christian values into the subject teaching and school curriculum. It is our intent at Northwest Catholic that our students act in a respectful and Christ-like manner towards each other and we model that daily.

Specials

In addition to the core subject areas, students expand their horizons through “specials”, including art, physical education, music, and technology training. It’s part of our commitment to educate the whole child – mind, body, and spirit.

Art and music classes encourage our students to be creative, and physical education keeps them active, healthy and provides long-term health benefits. To keep up with our modern world, our students are learning how to best use technology to further their education.
